Notes / Commentary: LeBlanc listed this series as "Appletons' Works of Charles Dickens" with 17 titles. A separate handwritten listing, under the alternate title of "Popular Edition of Dickens," included 18 titles, reportedly found in an advertisement in the 25th issue of The Waverley Novels. There is some lack of clarity about the contents of No. 17 (LeBlanc lists it as "Sketches and Pictures from Italy" but the handwritten list notes only "Sketches"). Since a bookseller listing with photographs confirms that "Pictures from Italy" was grouped with "Uncommercial Traveller" in this series, it seems possible that LeBlanc was conflating the last two numbers in his listing. It would be helpful to locate a copy of the book for confirmation.
