LeBlanc never saw one of these, listed only issues 1 and 2. Nos. 4 and 6 were added based on WorldCat listings.
LeBlanc estimated the date of the series as "early 1880's." However, an advertisement from the December 8, 1879 issue of Portland Daily Press (v. 17, p. 3) suggests that "late 1870's" is more accurate. The advertisement reads: "CHEAP MUSIC : MUNRO'S OPERA SERIES, Complete Scores, only 25 cents. Fatinitza, Pinafore, Chimes of Normandy, Trial by Jury, Cox and Box, Little Duke, for sale by IRA C. STOCKBRIDGE, NO. 156 EXCHANGE ST." The remaining unnumbered titles in this listing come from that advertisement.
