Notes / Commentary:

The issues LeBlanc examined (1, 4 and 5) each contained the ads of a different publisher: No. 1, Henry Holt & Co.; No. 4, The Century Co.; No. 5, Houghton Mifflin.

The original LeBlanc listing only included Nos. 1, 4-5 and 8. No. 3 was added from a bookseller's listing. No. 7 was added from a listing in The American Catalogue.

An advertisement on page 31 of the March 1, 1900 issue of The Bookseller, Newsdealer and Stationer shows the series being published by the H. B. Claflin Co., including the titles for Nos. 9-12. It also reveals a companion series: Standard Paper Novels.
