Notes / Commentary:

Edited by Norman Macleod, D. D.

This title is a shorter-lived American version of the British periodical Good Words, the original version of which ran from 1860-1910 and was published by Alexander Strahan.

LeBlanc's listing included details of only one story (Carlino) from one issue (January, 1870) of the magazine. This was the only issue he examined, and his listing was based on the assumption that it was the final issue. His provided numbering for this issue (variously v. 3, no. 10 or v. 3, no. 11) is inconsistent with a digitized bound volume observed in the Internet Archive and may be incorrect. Until a copy in wrappers can be examined, this listing omits numbering.

Holdings of the American Antiquarian Society suggest that this version of the title lasted at least until 1874.
