Notes / Commentary:

A second edition was issued without numbering and without dates. One was examined by LeBlanc. Date on title page was 1892. Cassell & Company issued it again, calling it Cassell's National Library, New Series. Ads show early numbering, but former No. 174 is now No. 400. Evidently in numbering the "New Series" the numbers were started probably with No. 215.

LeBlanc's listing shows two reused numbers. Other listings seen on the web suggest different positions for some titles. It is possible that the reprinting led to some inconsistencies in numbering, and a closer study of physical copies might be helpful to confirm how many variations actually exist.
