All day long, a furious norther had been raging, but as the sun began to disappear behind the summit of the Guadalupe Mountains, the wind perceptibly slackened, and the deafening roar grew gradually less. |
Last Sentence: |
A shout of horror broke from the warriors, as they rushed forward to rescue their comrade from the fearful death ; but too late they were; for after a moment's struggle-a writhing of bodies-an interlacing of limbs-a yell of terror from the hapless Comannche- they went went over the brink, locked in each other's arms! |
