First Sentence: Like every other young youth of a tender heart and green affections, I had a tremendous number of love affairs when I was in my "salad days."
Last Sentence: To be sure " 'tis distance lends enchantment to the view," but it is in the memory only-a single reading of a misspelt letter, the touch of a greasy mop of hair, or a glance at a distorted picture of one you only though you loved, will utterly destroy romance and render you sick at heart.
