First Sentence: One bright summer morning, a young nursery-girl left the house of her employer, in charge of a pair of the brightest, chubbiest and rosiest babies that ever parents doated on; at least so Mr. and Mrs. Machon thought.
Last Sentence: That night Eva Chadwick failed to keep her tryst with Wallace Grover, but a delicately-penciled note was sent him instead from Mabro Machon, inviting him to her father's house, and he came to hear that the vows plighted by the poor music teacher would be kept by the millionaire's petted daughter, and when next the thirtieth day of June came, two wreaths were prepared the same as ever, but this time they were of orange flowers, and when they were placed on the brows of the beautiful twins each decked the head of a bride.
