First Sentence: I have always been a little apprehensive that women, in contending for their right to the ballot, would overreach the mark and bring down upon themselves a more consuming fire than they have suffered from hitherto.
Last Sentence: It is not merely a question of right, or courtesy, or common civility even, it is a question of conscience, and if this evil is to continue its growth, it will be a merciful for those (women especially) who are marked by the gods for an early death.
