First Sentence: One afternoon in the early part of the dry season, the young officers of the Anglo-Indian cantonment of Meean Meer were stirred into no little excitement by the news that a Hindoo swordsman had presented himself in the camp, and had offered to perform in their presence the feat of slicing in two, with one slash of his tulwar (short sword) a lemon placed on the palm of a man's bare hand, without drawing blood or hurting the hand in any way.
Last Sentence: And now, as I hear, Harry Parkhurst never loses a chance of getting a fortnight's leave to go shooting in the hills with his old friend Kala Dahi.
