First Sentence: |
Once again! The face of the bright heavens still presents its varied aspects; the tide still ebbs and flows; the swift rush of the wind comes down the hill, bending the tall trees with its force; the snow falls white and soft as ever; the moon with her attendant stars is queen of serene skies; nothing appertaining to nature, it may be said, has changed since the Christmas bells rang out last year, and the waits sang of the herald angels. |
Last Sentence: |
The "waits" had never sung so sweetly, the bells had never chimed so merrily; and from one to another went the sweet old salutation which we, dear reader, give to you-"A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year." |
