There was once a city ruled by a king whom everybody liked, till at last a great giant came and took up his abode in a cave not far distant from the city, and whenever he saw fit he would a visit to the city and amuse himself by frightening people out of their wits, and he had magic power also of changing men into various beasts, and of bringing up suddenly great storms of hail and thunder, and sorely tormented the poor citizens. |
