First Sentence:	Mr. Speak and Fellow-Blowers: Peradventure lest the American Eagle should ever be invited to occupy a back seat in the synagogue, or to step down and out and let some other more ambitious bird step into his shoes, have we been stirred up by a combination of circumstances and posterity, which will come after us with a sharp stick if we go back on our constituents, to say a few words for the enlightenment of this honorable body and the rest of mankind, which latter, as some one has said, embraces the women, in behalf of this noble bird, who is now no spring chicken.
