First Sentence: If any man, woman, or child, will tell me what I am to do at this writing, to ward off the tremendous heat, which has been and is quite sufficient to bake, boil, stew, frizzle, fry and roast one on the half-shell, all at one and the same time, I will be so entirely and thoroughly grateful to that said human, whether male or female, that I will, most willingly and frankly make them, or him, or her, a handsome present.
