First Sentence: As soon as heard of the great impending war in Europe, and the probability that all the Powers on the other side of the water, would, sooner or later, be employed in the fight, I at once, made up my mind that I would volunteer as a War Correspondent, and would get all the money I could raise from the various journals, and so go and see the war on a grand scale.
