First Sentence: "Blacker than night and hotter than hell! I see you know how to make Turkish coffee. I dare say it's delicious, for the aroma is wonderful. But if you don't mind, I'll abstain. It makes me nervous. It's-it's poison to me."
Last Sentence: "The word 'Cairo' no longer meant to me an enchanted dream--it had become a synonym of nightmare...And as for coffee--I would soonergulp molten lava. The better it is, the worse for me. If I took so much as a sip, I would hear the devil laughing: 'You're quite free--but you drank the coffee!'--and dying as he laughed!"
