After a pleasant visit to the Cluny Museum, Paris, on the eighth day of November, 1902, we were returning to the other side of the Seine, across the Pont Neuf, when suddenly there appeared before us a genuine Paris mob, composed of three or four hundred noisy people of both sexes and all ages, who were hooting and screaming like lunatics.
