Description: *The number of birds that are slaughtered annually to provide adornment for feminine confections is appalling. It is certain that women seldom give a thought to this when they are selecting bonnets with gay plumaged birds to set them off. It may set some thinking to know that one city dealer received as a single consignment 32,000 dead humming birds, and another received at one time 30,000 aquatic birds and 300,000 pairs of wings. This is only a fraction of the annual trade done in slaughtered birds to pander to woman's vanity.
