To most men, when the bright meridian of life has passed and the shadows begin to steal around them, recollections of the days of their youth will come with peculiar emphasis-sometimes wreathing their faces with smiles, and again bedewing their eyes with the sad tears of regret or of sorrow well-nigh forgotten, but one more resurrected in their memory, perchance by some trifling circumstance, or by an event grave with importance. |
