Some male writer has asserted that the birth of a son causes gladness of heart, the congratulation of friends, and the looking forward to a life of usefulness; a noble, heroic battle with the stern realities of life, when he, so helpless now, shall be crowned a conquering hero, respected and beloved by all who know him, and one whom his country men may delight to honor by placing in the highest position in the gift of a free people. |
