[Some years ago there was a terrible colliery explosion in Saxony, by which many miners were killed. Among others, a young miner-Janetz by name-suffered death by slow suffocation, and was found grasping a paper upon which was written, in pencil: "Darling Rika, my last thought was of thee. Thy name will be the last word my lips shall speak. Farewell, Rika!"] |
