"Boston, Dec. 1. While the body of the Rev. Dr. Cudworth, who died in his pulpit on Thursday, was lying in state in the church to-day, Mr. Lewis G. Smith, the old sexton of the church, who had been a soldier in Dr. Cudworth's old regiment, fell dead at the head of the coffin. His death was as sudden as that of his beloved pastor, and apparently from the same cause." - Exchange |
