Dr. Gilead Peet, of Bridgeport, Conn., has just been officially notified that the French government has made him a Knight of the Legion of Honor. He had previously received the Geneva Cross for special services as a surgeon, and the order of Military Merit for bravery on the field of battle. He was engaged in all the battles round Paris in the Franco-German war. |
