Notes: This short article, differing by only a few words, also appeared in the May 28, 1908 Freeport Journal-Standard newspaper from Freeport, Illinois; the June 2, 1908 Chilicothe Constitution newspaper from Chilicothe, Missouri; the July 22, 1908 Palmyra Spectator newspaper from Palmyra, Missouri; and the April 7, 1909 issue of The Border Morning Mail and Riverina Times newspaper published in Albury, NSW. A further-abridged/rewritten version appeared in Our Dumb Animals v. 42, no. 9 (February, 1910), a publication of the Boston SPCA. The article was also reprinted as late as July 6, 1921, where it appeared in the Greencastle Herald newspaper from Greencastle, Indiana.
