First Sentence: Whoever will gaze into the west in the early evening will see setting majestically before him the great constellation Orion-a constellation which once seen is never forgotten, which has fixed the attention of mankind ever since the first intelligent eye was turned from earth to heaven, which was sung by Job, by Homer and by Hesiod, and the praises of which will adorn the pages of future poets so long as the beauties of nature have power to charm the fancy or to call forth an expression of admiration from the minds of men.
