ENGL 330 Spring 2018's Thoughts: | "Edward Gresham, a British man known as The Trailer, and his friend, Ketadin, the chief of the Delaware, are strolling along and discussing their affairs one day when they discover that “The Little One,” a prophet of the Ottawa, has been spying on them. Gresham picks up the Little Prophet and shakes him. This is his first grave mistake, as it immediately makes him an enemy of the Ottawa people. Gresham’s second grave mistake is falling in love with the beautiful Rose St. Aubin, a French woman and the daughter of the esteemed Gabriel St. Aubin. Though Rose is a wonderful choice, the problem is that other men agree. One in particular, Gaston Desile, is also in love with Rose, and will do anything to have her love--whether he earns it honorably or not. Edward Gresham finds himself at the tip of a triangle of violence: not only is Gaston after him, but the Ottawa people are also fast on his trail, eager to repay the suffering he caused the Little Prophet. Gresham has to fight harder than he ever has before for his honor as a Brit, the love of his life, and his very existence in a series of thrilling events including a secret society, murder, action, skill, and dramatic twists and turns that leave one yearning to know what will happen to the beloved Trailer."--Amy Freeman, undergraduate student at NIU enrolled in ENGL 330, Spring 2018 |
