Description: The following article was written by one of our most esteemed contributors, himself a Bostonian, and familiar with the character and energy of the people of his native city.
First Sentence: The city of Boston was visited on Saturday and Sunday, November 9th and 10th, with a frightful calamity by fire, the results of which in this country, have been equaled only by the conflagrations in Chicago in 1871, and that in New York in 1835.
