Inside the back cover are advertisements for Wheeler and Wilson's sewing machine and Foote's Patent Umbrella Lock Stand, one of the only examples of advertisements from outside firms appearing in Beadle publications.

Each issue contains short stories, usually four, by Edward S. Ellis. They were later reprinted in Boys' Books of Romance and Adventure.
