Notes / Commentary:

LeBlanc suggests that Frank F. Lovell & Co. (142 & 144 Worth St., New York) was publisher from 1 through possibly 24; John W. Lovell (150 Worth St., New York) was publisher from possibly 24 thorugh 178, and Lovell, Coryell & Co. (43, 45, 47 East Tenth St., New York) was publisher from possibly 179 onwards. However, digital issues online confuse the matter by revealing United States Book Co. editions and suggest that publisher imprints may have changed on different printings of some titles.

LeBlanc examined Nos. 17, 24, 77, 103, 161, 168, 173 and 193. The original LeBlanc listing included only numbers 1-112, 114-180 and 193. Number 113 comes from Publications of the United States Book Company, Successors to John W. Lovell Co., October, 1890. Numbers 181-183 taken from The Newsman, November 1891. Numbers 190, 194, 198, 208, 210 and 213-216 come from advertising in the back of number 159. Number 217 comes from The Publisher's Weekly, Oct. 1, 1892. Number 218 comes from The Literary News, January 1893. Number 219 comes from The Annual American Catalogue, 1892 from the Office of the Publishers' Weekly.
